What Is a Niche Edit?

A niche edit is a link acquisition tactic where a link to your site is inserted into an existing, already-published article on another website, rather than requiring new content to be created.

Example

A site owner might pay or negotiate to have a sentence in an old, well-ranking blog post edited to include a link to a relevant product page, without publishing any new article.

Why it matters

Niche edits can pass link value quickly since they’re inserted into pages that are already indexed and ranking, but they’re also closely scrutinized by search engines as a common paid-link pattern, carrying real risk if overused or poorly disclosed.
