What Is a Content Gap?

A content gap is a topic or keyword that a competitor ranks for but that your site currently has no content covering, representing a missed opportunity.

Example

Comparing your blog’s topics against a competitor’s might reveal they have a well-ranking guide on “email deliverability,” a subject your site has never covered despite being closely related to your existing content.

Why it matters

Identifying content gaps through competitor analysis gives a clear, data-backed list of topics to prioritize, rather than guessing what to write about next based on intuition alone.
